A Festival For All Ages |
West Jesmond Primary School |
On Saturday 27th November a small group of children from Year 6 represented our school at The Newcastle Citizens Assembly in The Great North Museum. The Citizens Assembly is a community initiative where various groups are invited to put forward an idea for improving life in Newcastle. The focus this time was how we can improve relationships between the generations across the city. Year 6 children have spent several weeks working with a group of retired people and an animation artist. Our idea was to organise a ‘Festival for All Ages’ at Exhibition Park. We spent several weeks developing this idea, painting, designing posters, making models and props and finally filming. The resulting animation film was shown at the Great North Museum and can be viewed again here. If you would like to find out more and vote for the festival to actually happen please look at www.newcastlecitizensassembly.org.uk |
